Please read the page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diplomatie.gouv.fr\/en\/coming-to-france\/\">Getting a Visa<\/a> from the French Foreign Office carefully to determine your situation and the procedure. France is part of the Schengen Area, which includes a number of European countries. In most cases you will apply for a \u201cSchengen short-term visa\u201d, which is valid for all countries in the Schengen Area. However, you <strong>must<\/strong> apply for the visa in the country of your <strong>main<\/strong> destination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"icdeparagrah\">In many cases however you will not need to apply for a visa. According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/france-visas.gouv.fr\/web\/france-visas\/ai-je-besoin-d-un-visa\">this page<\/a>\u00a0from the French Foreign Office web site, you are exempt from visa requirement for France\u2019s territory in Europe if you are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A citizen of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland;<\/li>\n<li>A national of the following countries and regions, whatever the reason for your stay: Albania*, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina*, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, El Salvador, East Timor, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Grenada, Guatemala, Holy See, Honduras, Israel, Malaysia, Mauritius, Monaco, Montenegro*, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Samoa, Serbia*, Seychelles, Taiwan (passport bearing identity card number), Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, and Vanuatu;<i>*bearers of biometric passports only<\/i><\/li>\n<li>A national of the following countries: Australia, Brazil, United States, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Venezuela. If you are gainfully employed, the exemption only applies if you can produce a work permit;<\/li>\n<li>A bearer of a passport of the Hong Kong special administrative region (People\u2019s Republic of China) and the Macau special administrative region (People\u2019s Republic of China);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"icdeparagraph\"><strong>If you need an invitation letter to request a visa, please send an email to icde2018@dakini-pco.com with subject &#8220;ICDE 2018 Invitation letter request for visa&#8221; and include the notification email about the acceptance of your paper as an attachment.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Important note: The following guidelines are in conformance with official information from the French consular offices.
