We are especially interested in tutorials that address under-studied aspects of the data science pipeline: data exploration, managing algorithmic bias, and visual analytics. The conference will host several one- and two-session tutorials, lasting 1.5 and 3 hours, respectively.<\/p>\n<h2>Important Dates<\/h2>\n<p class=\"icdeparagraph\">All deadlines are 11:59PM US PDT<\/p>\n<p><b>Tutorial Submission:<\/b> October 27<sup>th<\/sup>, 2017<br \/>\n<b>Notification of acceptance:<\/b> December 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2017<br \/>\n<b>Camera-Ready copy due:<\/b> <del datetime=\"2017-09-27T10:12:36+00:00\">January 22<sup>nd<\/sup><\/del> February 5<sup>th<\/sup>, 2018<\/p>\n<h2>Submission Guidelines for Tutorial Proposals<\/h2>\n<p class=\"icdeparagraph\">Tutorial proposals should be submitted through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cmt3.research.microsoft.com\/ICDE2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">submission site<\/a>\u00a0(choose the Tutorial track). Submission should be at most 4 (four) pages with the same format as conference research papers. Please see the\u00a0submission guidelines. Each submission should include the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The proposed tutorial title<\/li>\n<li>The preferred duration (1.5 or 3 hours; if you envision both 1.5 and 3 hours, please specify which parts would be added\/removed)<\/li>\n<li>An abstract<\/li>\n<li>An outline detailing the scope and depth of coverage of the targeted topics<\/li>\n<li>A short description of the intended audience<\/li>\n<li>A short biography of the proposed presenter(s), along with contact information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"icdeparagraph\">If the tutorial or an earlier version has been presented elsewhere, the proposal should indicate those respective events (and dates), and how the current proposal differs from other editions of the tutorial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"icdeparagraph\">A short description of the tutorial (up to 4 pages) will be included in the conference proceedings.
